Our story: It started with one kid and one ice cream bike. Back in 2017, at eleven years old, I was riding through Calgary selling ice cream, just a bike, a freezer, and the simple idea that a cold treat on a hot day makes people happy. That summer hustle never really stopped. One bike became a few. A few bikes became proper park locations. And season after season, the same thing kept happening: people came back. Today, Alpine serves up scoops and treats across four park locations in Calgary and Chestermere; Bowness Park, Pearce Estate Park, Prairie Winds Park, and Anniversary Park, with a small fleet of bikes and a whole lot of the same energy that got this rolling in the first place.

Two seasons, one little business: We didn't want to disappear once the snow came. So when the parks quiet down and the river begins to freeze, Alpine Hot Chocolate & Coffee takes over. A cozy café trailer down by the Jaipur Bridge, serving rich hot chocolate and real espresso to skaters, walkers, and anyone who'd rather be holding something warm. Summer scoops, winter warmth. Same little business, all year round.

A small business, done right: This is still a small, independent, owner-run operation, not a franchise, not a faceless concession. Just a Calgary business that takes a lot of pride in doing one simple thing well. Over the years the bikes got nicer and the operation got sharper, but the heart of it never changed.

Why we do it: Honestly? Because we love being a small part of people's good days. The kid getting a cone after the playground. The family making a lap of the park. The regulars who've watched this business grow up right alongside them. We're not really in the ice cream business we're in the business of small, reliable joy, one scoop at a time.
